In the Spring of 2005 Lindsay Mearns, artist, property developer and photographer, completed the Curriculum for Living, a series of seminars offered by Landmark Education. During the third phase of the program, Lindsay made a commitment to raise awareness of a sometimes invisible community of people living in our midst.
As a result of this commitment, Lindsay, some of her family and many friends took cameras, notebooks and packages of cigarettes in hand, and set out to capture some of the stories of the people they met on a face-to-face basis, as they walked the streets and lanes of our City.
These photographs with the fragments of life which accompany them, both tell the stories and reveal invisible people as extraordinary in unforgettable images.
These are Lindsay's stories.
